About Streembit
The Streembit network is run by participants admitted through public Open Calls and coordinated by a Foundation that holds no block-production role.
The Foundation
The Foundation issues the Open Calls through which every Accountable Node and validator is admitted, verifies applicants against the published requirements, and registers admitted applicants as ACTIVE through M-of-N authorisation by its officers. Registration is ministerial: the Foundation applies the published criteria and has no discretion between applicants that meet them.
At genesis the Foundation holds the 0.8 SBRIT Treasury, spent only through Governance authorisation, and the 0.2 SBRIT fee reserve of the deployer key that produces the bootstrap blocks. Its keys attest only the system transactions of the bootstrap sequence and receive no reward for them. Once at least two validators are ACTIVE the Foundation keys attest nothing further and have no role in consensus; they retain their Governance authority under the rules in the Protocol Specification. The ruleset in force, the amendment procedure, appeals and the enforcement record are on the Governance page.
Foundation disclosures
The Protocol Specification requires the Foundation to publish its directors, officers, their affiliations and its funding sources, and the material terms of any contract with a business affiliated with a Foundation director or officer, an Accountable Node or a validator. Disclosures are updated within 30 days of any change.

Accountable Nodes and validators
Blocks are produced only by Accountable Nodes: registered companies in an approved jurisdiction with at least USD 5,000,000 in audited assets and publicly identified officers. Transactions are attested only by ACTIVE validators: verified individuals and legal entities, one validator per beneficial owner. Neither role requires an upfront deposit; rewards accumulate in a locked deposit towards 10,000 SBRIT for an Accountable Node and 1,000 SBRIT for a validator.
Every place is offered only through an Open Call. No place is reserved for any applicant, and the genesis Open Call offers one Accountable Node place and the genesis validator places. The registered name, jurisdiction and beneficial owners of each admitted Accountable Node, and the ID and affiliation flag of each admitted validator, are published with the results of the call and recorded in the on-chain registry. Current and previous calls are on the Open Calls page; the requirements and the application procedure are in the Protocol Specification.
